Speech from me giving last night. I was kinda nervous and speaked quite fast sorry if you can't listen carefully last night.
" Good evening, ladies and gentleman!
I welcome you all and thank you once again for being here on such a special
occasion. What a bizarre feeling today, to stand here before you as the
president of the Leo Club of SMJK Nan Hwa for the last time. I find it hard to
believe how far this year has gone.
At this time last year, I was standing before you making my acceptance speech, feeling scared and nervous, being uncertain if I would make a good President. I am sure many of you were probably feeling the same way. But as the time progressed, I become more comfortable in the role and receive tremendous support from Lions, teacher advisors, my board of directors and from you, the members. Together we have made it a memorable one.
Our club has come a very long way since then. We have not only increased in membership but our projects have become bigger and better. We have not only increased in strength but at the very same time achieved our goals that we set forth during the beginning of my term. As a president I have learnt a lot of things like leadership, responsibility and confidence. But most importantly, I have learnt to give each and everyone an equal chance to come forward, take up projects and handle it thus brings out the leader in everyone. Now I can proudly say that our club though may have one president but I see successful leaders in each and every member.
I am quite happy and content with all that we have achieved.
These past months, the Leo club of SMJK Nan Hwa shared our time, our talents, be our resources - we shared our kindness and our love. Sharing means giving frequently for the good of others.
I understand that the committee and members have been through a lot sweat and tears in order to secure our benefit and interests. I must admit that all of you have exhibited great loyalty and diligence toward your respective obligation. Truly Leo Club of SMJK Nan Hwa is proud to have such proactive members. And thus, I would like to take this opportunity to say that I am grateful to each and every single effort and sacrifices made with all my heart.
As the outgoing president for this auspicious annual event, I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for allowing me to serve as your President from 2012 until 2013. I have enjoyed every single minute of it. I hope you have too!
